In our second match of the day on Mon 5/10, we beat St. Greg's in a very close, 3 game match. We lost the first game 25-22. This game was lost due to our inability to side out their #11 serve for the last 5 points in a row! Serving was led by Jake C. with 6 good and 1 for ace followed by Marc G. with 4 good and 1 for ace. We weren't sustaining our serve well although we were up 22-20 when we folded on the side-out. Passing had many contributors including Mike S. - 11, Alex H. - 10, Marc G. - 9 and Spenser H. - 8. Setting was led by Alex H. with 18, hitting by both Mike P. with 13 and 6 for kill and Marc G. with 13 and 2 for kill.
In the second game we won 25-21 although again we gave up a 6 serve run to their 4th server which kept the game close! Serving was led by Alex H. with 13 good serves of which 6 were for kill - a super job! Setting was led by Alex H. with 12 while passing was led by Alex H. with 6 and Spenser H. with 5 along with everybody else for either 3 or 4 so a good team effort. Hitting was led by Mike P. with 14 hits and 5 of those for kill.
In the third game we won 25-10 and we had a stellar defense with only not-siding out their first serve twice - once for 1pt and once for 2pts! We were led in serving by Alex H. with 9 and 5 of those for ace and Mike P. with 4 all for ace. Setting was led by Mike S. with 9 while passing was led by Mike S. and Jake C. each with 4. Mike P. led hitting with 12 of which 6 were for kill. Mike P. had a phenominal day recoding 17 kills on the day. The stats for this match are found here.
