Season Total Statistics

The boys have made great progress and this is the season statistics totals for all matchs excluding the first one at Saint Peter and Paul as I view that one as a learning experience for the boys and I was just figuring out which stats would be beneficial.

Serve % This statistic is just a total of all serve's attempted and a % of how many of those serves were good serves.
Plus / Minus Number (+/-) This statistic is somewhat more complicated. I gave a "Good" return mark for any return of serve that the boys got up and in the air that was playable either by the other team or another member of our own team. A "Not" return is one that they attempted that was not playable by anyone else or out of bounds. An "Ace" is when they didn't get to or even attempt to return the ball. The "Extra" points were awarded 1 point for every 4 attempts, either "Good" or "Not". This was to encourage the boys to attempt and not get discouraged by some bad returns thus not give any effort when they thought that they could not get a positive result.

I learned early on that the boys like to see their results and know their stats and that they seemed to like seeing thier accomplishments on the web, so I began publishing these statistics for every game right after completion. They did make great progress throughout the year.
